Sunil Gavaskar Lauds Virat Kohli Led Indian Team, Calls It The Best In The History Of Indian Cricket

The Indian cricket team is struggling at the moment in the first innings of the fourth and the last test match of the four test match series against England at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, as it has lost 6 wickets on the score of 146 in response to 205 runs scored by the visitors.

However, if we take an overall view of the Indian cricket team’s performance in the recent past, they have been performing quite well. In fact, the former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar feels that this team can easily be compared to some strongest and the best teams of the past, for example, Ricky Ponting’s Australian side, Clive Lloyd’s West Indian squad, Graeme Smith’s South African team, etc.

The legendary Indian cricketer also talks about some other skippers such as Steve Waugh, Viv Richards, etc. and showers praises on Virat Kohli for his good captaincy and consistency. Sunil Gavaskar states that the team under Virat Kohli’s leadership has won matches in every country, whether it’s winning test matches in South Africa and England or winning series in West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia.

According to Little Master, this team has shown brilliant performances and dominated the other teams as Steve Waugh’s team used to do in 90s or the West Indian team dominated the cricket world under Clive Llyod, Viv Richards and Brian Lara.

Sunil Gavaskar is of the opinion that it is a great achievement for the Indian team to defeat the Australian side which had Steve Smith, David Warner and Marcus Labuschagne. After the Indian team defeated Australia in the four match test series by 2-1, the head coach Ravi Shastri stated that the whole team has got highly influenced by Virat Kohli’s attitude and behaviour.

While concluding, the legendary Indian batsman says that in his opinion, this Indian squad is certainly the best team if we take a look at history of the Indian cricket.
